A worldwide network of activists, scholars and organizations, in many cases with the help of maps made available online, documents these events and clearly identifies them as a structural consequence of the militarized European border regime.<\/p>\n<p>On its <a href=\"http:\/\/www.watchthemed.net\/index.php\/main\">website<\/a>, the network presents the various aspects of its work:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/watchthemed.net\/media\/uploads\/jwysiwyg\/How-wtm-works.png\" alt=\"http:\/\/watchthemed.net\/media\/uploads\/jwysiwyg\/How-wtm-works.png\" width=\"324\" height=\"191\"><\/p>\n<p><i>Informing<\/i> WTM distributes information about rights and security at sea for migrants and seamen<\/p>\n<p><i>Reporting<\/i> WTM collects reports sent via phone calls or the internet from migrants, relatives, seafarers and other witnesses of ongoing or past violations at sea and visualise them on the online platform<\/p>\n<p><i>Monitoring<\/i> WTM combines testimonies and other forms of evidence with technology such as georeferenced mapping and satellite imagery to reconstruct events and determine responsibility.<\/p>\n<p><i>Pressuring <\/i>WTM uses the live information on violations at sea to pressure authorities into respecting their obligations and save the lives of migrants at sea<\/p>\n<p><i>Filing Legal cases <\/i>WTM uses information &amp; evidence on past violations to support legal cases and end impunity<\/p>\n<p><i>Supporting WTM<\/i> WTM welcomes support in the form of research, contacts, translation, reports or giving echo to the violations of migrant rights at sea<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We have already presented one of the network&#8217;s
