As a result of a collaborative project between IniRromnja<\/a>, With Wings<\/a> and Roots<\/a> and RomaniPhen<\/a>, the handout “Miman’s Story” on Gadj\u00e9 racism was created. Its author is empowerment trainer Hajdi Barz. “Miman’s story responds to the deficit of current educational materials on gadj\u00e9 racism – the structural and interpersonal racism against Rom*nja and Sinti*zza on the part of majority societies,” RomaniPhen<\/a> write on their website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The handout contains educational materials that work alongside four video modules from the documentary WITH WINGS AND ROOTS <\/a>. The videos portray social worker Miman, a German Rrom who works with refugee Rrom*nja families in Berlin. It provides background information for education workers, offers discussion questions about the videos, and provides in-depth exercises.<\/p>\n

The materials serve to sensitize teachers and learners to the history and current situation of Rrom*nja and Sinti*zza in Germany. It also aims to stimulate critical reflection and create spaces for empowerment and solidarity for young people from different communities.
