In the book, the author addresses specific everyday situations and challenges that are rarely addressed in other guidebooks: for example, choosing a name, multilingualism, and dealing with racism. Olaolu Fajembola’s book is dedicated to young people, a group that has so far been ignored by the advice literature.<\/p>\n

“These kids who have Black and\/or White parents need informed parents. Parents who can explain in child-friendly terms what racism is and how it works. Parents who can answer the question, ‘Mom, will you make me cornrows?” with a confident ‘Yes!” and parents who aren’t afraid to give their child an African name.” Book description of the publisher<\/a><\/p>\n
