With the brochure “We take racism personally” Amnesty International has published important and informative material on the topic of everyday racism in cooperation with self-organizations of people with experience of racism as well as experts on anti-discrimination.

The brochure is addressed to everyone and calls on everyone to perceive racism in its many everyday manifestations and to take action.

Texts by Amnesty International and contributions by experts on the subject introduce the topic from different perspectives.

In addition to reports on the experiences of those affected, the issue contains articles on institutional and structural racism, (multiple) discrimination and empowerment. An outlook on racism criticism and anti-discrimination is followed by a concrete collection of helpful hints under the heading “This is what you can do”. The topics of racism and language as well as empowerment are also addressed and explained in the booklet in a way that is easy to understand.

This compilation of diverse texts and perspectives is intended, according to Amnesty International, as a reading booklet and reference tool, as well as for use in political and cultural education.

The brochure can be downloaded here as a PDF file.
