In the book, Yasemin Shooman looks at print publications, newspaper articles, websites, and letters to Muslim associations to examine current anti-Muslim narratives and their functions. She focuses on self-images and images of others, but also on historical contexts, and finally highlights dominant linguistic images and motifs. Her analysis work in the relatively new field of research shows that there is a racialization of religious affiliation that leads into anti-Muslim racism.
