41Q4FUOFOGL__SX351_BO1,204,203,200_In the volume “Critique of Racism and Forms of Resistance,” edited by Karim Fereidooni and Meral El, 53 contributions analyze racist phenomena and forms of resistance in various nation-states.

The aim of the book, according to the editors in the preface, is to highlight the interdependence that exists between (inter)national relations of hegemony and subalternity.

Different manifestations of racism in specific national contexts should be understood as part of cross-national racist mechanisms. The anthology will not only examine these transnational mechanisms and their national specifics; it will simultaneously analyze national and transnational forms of resistance.

Specifically, the nation states of Germany, France, Greece, Great Britain, Canada, the Netherlands, Austria and Turkey are considered.

The volume is divided into seven chapters that cover the topics of everyday racism, racist social discourses, (institutional) racism in institutions, right-wing extremism, resistance and empowerment, critique of racism critique, and critical whiteness.
