“The book ‘Deutschland Schwarz Weiss’ (Germany Black and White) invites you to a self-knowledge and sensitization program that will demand a lot of you, that may shock and unsettle you, and at times even make you angry. But it is worth it. Only if you don’t close your eyes can you make an active contribution to ensuring that ideologies that despise humanity never again gain majority support in Germany.” (from the Author’s announcement)

In 2018, the publishing contract for this book expired and Noah Sow decided to self-publish the text in a comprehensively updated new edition. On her blog, the author writes about it:

” ‘Germany Black and White’ is still in demand. This is a pity because it means that Black German history and present, as well as the workings of structural racism in Germany, are still not part of the general knowledge of the majority. And that we still have to listen to the “list of stupid sayings” (chapter 6). (…) I have made many additions that seemed to be necessary in view of the findings and phenomena that have occurred in the meantime. This is especially, but not limited to, the so-called ‘refugee wave,’ the term ‘PoC,’ the sections ‘Who is Black, and Who is White?”, “What is Racism?”, “The N- Word,” “White Parents and Black Children,” “Overt and Camouflaged Racist Strategies,” “Institution of Schooling,” the “Ethno Lexicon,” and several more chapters.”
