This website aims to inform and connect actors who are engaged against privatization, gentrification and demolition policies in the urban area of Berlin.

“For the Courage to Disorder in the Place of Longing Berlin” – the website offers not only a map showing vacant buildings, but also a list of prominent vacancies and associated initiatives working to preserve them.

“Our public property,” write the creators at “AbrissHome,” “must be inalienable and protected from further robbery! (…) Berlin’s unique charms and potentials are spurned, alternative concepts and projects are prevented, hindered or driven away. More and more people are being pushed out of the inner city and neighboring districts by greed for profit and by means of so-called gentrification. Some find the strength to fight back: Stop Rising Rents! Protect social tenants!”

The section “AbrissNews” (Demolition News ), which has not been updated for some time, functions as a small, excerpted archive of social struggles of recent years – from dealing with the Berlin banking scandal to the commitment against the Mediaspree real estate project to the preservation of the Bethanien South Wing as a political, cultural, and social center.
