“Women, transsexuals and transvestis from Latin America talk about their situation here in Germany. Since many of them have no residence status, they are left with sex work as a means of earning a living, in addition to cleaning work. While some would rather have another job, others are satisfied with the work. However, they wish for different working and living conditions, free from the fear of controls and denunciation by employers, husbands or clients. They talk about the reasons for their migration and about experiences of disappointment, fear and frustration – but also about their goals, wishes and successes. They talk about their experiences with the clients, with the police and with the immigration authorities. They discuss their work, lawlessness and their possibilities to resist repression and discrimination. This documentary video was made in collaboration with Mucolade (Mujeres contra la deportacíon = Women against Deportation). Mucolade is a group of Spanish-speaking women who do preventive work to stop migrant women who work in the sex industry from ending up in deportation detention.” (Synopsis)
