dummyThe Zinn Education Project serves to implement diverse school-based teaching on the history of diverse people and groups of people in schools. With reference to the diverse and varied histories that further constitute the present of people in the United States (a good overview can be found in the book A People’s History of the United States: 1492 – Present), the website provides free access to topic-related knowledge resources. The goal is to counter a one-sided historiography, as it is done by common teaching material, with a more differentiated view of U.S. history and the present.

On the website, teaching units can be downloaded, as well as articles organized by theme, era, and receptivity. The Zinn Education Project is coordinated by the organizations Rethinking Schools and Teaching for Change .
