dummyWith the blog act against colonialism, the initiators want to inform about German colonial history and call for a critical approach to the origin and production of white knowledge, which is often presented as neutral and objective at the Humboldt University:

“Knowledge in German education is for the most part re_produced by whites[*] for whites. Most of the lecturers are white, the curricula are designed by whites, the texts we read are written by white authors, and so on. Despite or because of this dominance, whiteness is hardly discussed in Germany. Through this non-naming, it permeates social, political and cultural structures and is thus established as a universal norm. Naming the privileges whites have in relation to racism is often met with resistance by white persons and leads to defensive reactions, although a systematic and structural privileging of white persons cannot be denied.” act against colonialism

Under the heading Speak Out, the blog also offers a platform where students, teachers and visitors of Humboldt University can name, discuss and report colonial-racist seminar and lecture content.
