“Teaching materials and didactics critical of racism for many subjects” is the subtitle of the reader, designed by editors Marcin Michalski and Ramses Michael Oueslati for different grade levels and types of schools. Students and teachers are introduced to the self-reflective and empowering examination of racism and other dimensions of discrimination: from the ability to write discrimination-free applications to the question of a good life and one’s own identity to mathematics critical of racism. The methods are for the learning areas of social sciences, life and work, philosophy, German and theater, and mathematics.

In the foreword, author Feridun Zaimoglu writes: “It is fiercely to be welcomed, even by me, when resources are provided for students to help them understand racism not as a harsh historical episode, but as something that still exists here and now. So basically it’s about working out, sometimes playfully, sometimes in conflict, that you’re also susceptible to it yourself. That’s what it’s all about!”

The collection of materials and methods can be downloaded here free of charge. The Reader also includes a DVD.
